Brief Information

What’s the situation?

The Bavarian Government is planning to canalize the last free flowing section of the Danube between Vilshofen and Straubing although the German Federal Government has clearly voted against this measure. Detailed information here.

What’s at stake?

The canalization would cause severe damage for plants and animals in the area. Some rare species would even be in danger of extinction.

What are we doing against all this?

The JBN is organizing a camp in the area in question from 4th August through 10th August to protest peacefully and to draw the general public’s attention to this scandal. More info here.

What can I do to help?

In order to support our cause, you can either participate in the camp yourself, thus showing your disapproval of the canalization project. Or you can protest online by signing our petition.
